    Warning: Do Not Fall Prey to Fraudulent Telephone Calls

    It has come to the notice of the Consulate General of India, Frankfurt through complaints received from Indian nationals that fraudulent phone calls are being received from persons claiming be German authorities/immigration officials or from Embassy of India, Berlin/Indian Consulates in Germany. The caller threatens the Indians living in Germany with deportation/legal problems unless a certain amount is transferred to the account details provided by the caller.

    The caller tries to extort money by claiming to have access to the personal information of the victim including travel details. It appears that Fraudsters are using the social media and job portals to gather personal information.

    Please be advised that the Consulate General of India, Frankfurt does not solicit such calls. Do not fall prey to this scam.
