Indian Students in Germany

Germany with its technological prowess and booming economy and reputed network of universities and institutes has emerged as an important and attractive destination for Indian students who are interested to pursue higher education abroad.  A large number of Indian students pursuing their higher education in Germany are enrolled in universities and institutes located in the states of Hessen, North Rhine Westphalia, Rhineland Pflaz and Saarland to which the consular jurisdiction of Consulate General for India, Frankfurt extends. The Consulate General of India, Frankfurt seeks to actively engage and interact with the Indian students and ex-students in its consular jurisdiction to nurture and nourish the Indo German educational ties and maintain a close interaction with the students to render assistance they may require.

All students in the consular jurisdiction of Consulate General of Indian, Frankfurt are requested to register themselves by logging on to our website at www.cgifrankfurt.de. You are requested to pass this information on to other Indian students in your university or institute or former Indian/Indian origin students who are still in Germany and encourage them to register themselves.

ATTENTION: Advisory to the Indian Students on Fraud Calls

We wish to again bring to the notice of Indian Students in Germany about fraud calls which are being received purportedly from +4930257950, which is Embassy's phone number. The caller threatens the Indian Students Studying in Germany with deportation/legal problems using the spoofed number of Embassy unless a certain amount is transferred to the account details provided by the caller through Western Union Money transfer.

We have been informing the Indians in Germany regarding such fraud calls through our social media- Embassy of India Facebook page, Twitter account and also website www.indianembassy.de.

https://www.indianembassy.de/pages.php?id=169

We would like to again emphasise on the fact that Embassy/Consulate does not call up people to ask for money, etc, and hence such calls be ignored and reported promptly.

It may be suggested to adequately caution your colleagues to be on guard. Kindly spread the message that the Indian Embassy or our Consulates in Frankfurt, Munich and Hamburg does not solicit such calls. Hence do not fall prey to this scam.

We have also taken up the matter with German authorities and we are regularly in touch with them on the issue.

If you have received such a threat, it may be suggested to lodge a Police complaint and to inform us with details, preferably by email to  minpersoffice@indianembassy.de
